I have been trying to encourage staff to use technology more in the classroom, and i thought that a ‘quick win’ would be webcams. I have shown staff a number of ways to use the webcams from exhibiting student work, to recording news reports.

I used it myself this week delivering a year 8 PE lesson on OAA (outdoor and adventurous activities). I had a group looking at using a compass, and i put the compass underneath the webcam to show everyone all at once. This meant that the students could follow the explanation and focus on using the compass, rather than struggling to see the small object the teacher has. Worked well! How are you using the webcam in education?
